A Glimpse of the Job. The Business Administrator I is responsible for managing a full range of business activities including reviewing and approving business documents for the department head and developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and unit budget and other quantitative data. Essential Duties/ Tasks:Financial Management/ Budget - Manages departments business and financial operations. Tracks and analyzes financial activity, providing periodic status reports to the department head. Reviews and approves account reconciliations. Manages financial transactions of the unit relative to the operating budget, graduate funds, incoming bursary and gift funds, and sponsored projects. Consults with and advises department head, faculty, and staff concerning business activities. Proposes solutions to routine and complex financial problems for the department.
