Guaranteed placement for each school day the 2025-2026 school year, guaranteed interview for open teaching positions and primary consideration for long-term substitute needs.Reports to: PrincipalESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:* Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.* Teaches lesson plan(s) as outlined by the absent teacher.* Performs all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the building principal.* Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the interests of students.* Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.* Implements all rules and regulations, polices and administrative guidelines as adopted by the Naugatuck Board of Education.* Becomes acquainted with parents; reports any unusual occurrences or events to the principal or designated representative.* Demonstrates knowledge and incorporates technology in daily tasks as required.* Attend staff meetings, department meetings, report card conferences and faculty meeting as required.* Attend in-service professional development when required.QUALIFICATIONS:* Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or related field required.* Valid, grade appropriate Connecticut Teacher Certification required.WAGE RATE: $130.00/day - certified, $115.00 Bachelors
