Job Description :

New Age Engineering PLLC is a Long Island based Engineering firm managing projects throughout the New York area. We are currently seeking a Building Permit Expediter to handle construction applications associated with Mechanical, Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering Projects.

Building Permit Expediter Description:

  • Maintaining an organized Calendar for all client projects as well as in-house office projects
  • Manage the entire filing process for a wide range of Mechanical, Plumbing & Fire Protection construction projects
  • Learn our in-house project tracking software and maintain updated records
  • Managing project workflow:
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive applications for building permits
  • Conduct thorough reviews of construction plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with our in-house team to gather necessary information to resolve any permitting issues
  • Keep accurate records of all interactions, submissions, and approvals to ensure compliance with departmental and legal requirements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest changes in building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable laws, and incorporate them into permit application processes.
  • Manage Due Dates
  • Client communications
  • Prepare application materials for NYC DOB, DEP, and Landmarks submissions
  • Handling Phone calls from clients
  • Providing updates to ongoing projects.

The ideal Building Permit Expediter will have:

  • Filing Representative Class I or II expediting experience
  • Knowledge of NYC agency processes and procedures
  • Ability to read architectural and construction drawings
  • Ability to navigate DOB BIS, e-filing, DOB NOW, FDNY, & LPC
  • Ability to evaluate status of open filings and initiate close out process
  • Ability to prepare, submit and obtain approvals on new filings and amendments
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Ability to interpret Construction plans and documents
  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal skills.
  • Excellent organization

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 annually
