• Summary:

Directs and supervises a variety of custodial, buildings and grounds maintenance activities at Stark County facilities. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of computerized HVAC systems which include mechanical equipment, boilers, heat registers and air conditioning systems.

• Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. Incumbents may not be required to perform all duties in this description, and incumbents may be required to perform position-specific tasks other than those listed in this job description.

Supervises and directs staff; assigns and reviews work; trains employees; hires new employees; initiates disciplinary actions as needed. Manages Independent Contractors.Develops and administers the operating budget.Maintains work records; prepares various activity reports.Manages the purchase of parts, supplies and equipment.Conducts project planning, coordinates with other County departments on various projects.Manage snow and ice removal operations; determines work schedules, equipment and supply needs.Responsible for the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment, boilers, heat registers and air conditioning systems; changing filters; cleans units.Responsible for general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and interior painting and roof repairs. Refers to contractors for major repairs and projects.Manage trash and recycling collection.Manages and performs the setup and take down of voting machines.Manages groundskeeping activities; Trims trees and shrubs; maintains lawns, sprinkler maintenance.Works with contractors on weed control applications and manages the spraying of weeds around buildings.Operates motorized equipment; performs basic maintenance on equipment.Manages the use of janitorial supplies.Assists with table and chair setup for various functions when necessary.In the absence of Custodial staff, performs general interior custodial activities.Responsible for waxing floors.
