  • Professional Educator License with the Administrative or Principal endorsement
  • Masters degree in Education
  • Minimum 5 years of successful teaching and/or instructional leadership experience
  • Experience with English Learner and/or Bilingual/ Dual Language education
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Bilingual/ESL endorsement required
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: District 2 is seeking an instructional leader that is committed to ensuring academic growth and opportunities for all students. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction within the district's strategic plan. In addition, the director will provide leadership and oversight for the district's English Learner (EL) and Dual Language programs, ensuring that all students, especially multilingual learners, have access to high-quality instruction and opportunities to thrive. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, alignment, and continuous improvement of PK-8 curriculum across all content areas.
  • Collaborate with teachers, principals, and district leadership to ensure the curriculum and instruction reflects best practices and supports diverse learners.
  • Assist in coordinating Professional Learning for teachers and teams in multiple forms including; modeling, instructional staff meetings, working with PLC Coaches and teams, curricular work opportunities, and Bensenville University trainings(BUs).
  • Assist in analyzing student performance data to inform instructional practices and program decisions.
  • Assist in leading the new teacher induction program and district-wide mentoring program.
  • Supervise and support the design and implementation of effective EL and dual language instructional models.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state mandates related to multilingual education.
  • Support and coach EL and dual language educators and instructional coaches to promote culturally and linguistically responsive teaching strategies across all contents.
  • Co-plan and attend the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee meetings with the BPAC president.
  • Collaborate closely with the MTSS Coordinator to ensure tiered academic and language supports are aligned and effectively implemented for all students, particularly English Learners and Dual students.
  • Oversees the planning, implementation, and administrative supervision of the district's summer learning programs including; summer school, summer enrichment, and JumpStart Kindergarten.
  • Completes evaluations of staff members as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees of the district.
  • Ability to carry out instructions provided in either written, diagram or oral form.
  • Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: Salary Range: $90,000-120,000 12 month contract, competitive benefits package, tuition reimbursement available, extensive professional development opportunities.
