Founded in 1925, Volkert is celebrating a century of serving our employees, clients, partners, and communities.We are currently searching for an experienced Bridge Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas .What you'll be doing:Perform/supervise calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programsPerform/supervise load ratings on bridges of various type size and complexityReview calculations and design details developed by othersAttend meeting with clients and other professionals and organizationsDevelop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule, and project constraintsReview construction related submittalsOrganize and maintain project filesSupervising and mentoring Structural EITs and InternsAssist with marketing bridge and structure design workWhat you need to have:Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringMaster of Engineering preferred, but not requiredValid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.)6 to 9 years of engineering experience in bridge designTxDOT experience is strongly preferredSkilled in the use of OpenBridge DesignerTechnical expertise for the layout & design of bridges and related highway structuresFamiliarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structuresKnowledge of AASHTO and other pertinent bridge design specificationsFamiliarity of TxDOT bridge standards and design manuals is strongly preferredAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
