**This position can be performed remotely for candidates who reside in AL, TN, GA, LA, or MS** Essential Functions: - Obtains information necessary to approve and process renewals for fidelity and commercial surety.
- Assesses risk and makes the final decision on approving and issuance of new and renewal bond policies within limited authority.
- Travels with manager to meet with agents and insureds to learn about underwriting and marketing.
- Enters, rates, and codes all new bond business and renewals.
- Develops premiums for all commercial bonds.
- Enters all cancellations and endorsements.
- Preps, images, and indexes correspondence into the computer system from email, mail, and underwriters.
- Enters and assists the Non-Contract Bond Manager and bond underwriters with general indemnity agreements for any commercial bond exposures.
- Assists the Non-Contract Bond Manager and/or non-contract bond underwriters in entering financial statement information into the bond underwriting system for larger commercial bond exposures.
- Orders and pulls all personal credit reports and Experian reports for all contract and non-contract bond accounts and updates appropriate systems
- Updates Non-Contract Bond Manager and/or non-contract bond underwriters on credit report results.
- Reviews reports for non-contract bonds.
- Assists Non-Contract Bond Manager in gathering bond forms to add to our bond portal for Tier 1 and Tier 2 processing.
- Performs training for agency personnel on the use of the Bond Portal on EMC's website, including setting up a power-of-attorney with EMC, processing quick issue bonds, pulling a power/bond number for bonds outside the quick issue platform, etc.
Education & Experience: - Associates degree, or equivalent relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Fidelity and surety bond experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Knowledge of surety and fidelity underwriting terminology, coverage forms, related documents and procedures preferred
- Strong computer skills needed with a working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good math and bookkeeping skills
- Must be able to work on multiple tasks at one time with frequent interruptions
- Must be detail-oriented as well as possess strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritizing skills
- Occasional travel is required; a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving
The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either the $42,134-$58,077 range or the $46,466-$64,023 range. A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
