The Boiler Operator Trainee position is a structured, entry-level role designed to prepare individuals for promotion to a licensed Boiler Operator position within the Electric Production department. Under direct supervision of Power Plant Supervisory personnel, the trainee assists with the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of power plant systems. The goal is to provide on-the-job training to build the skills and knowledge needed to advance into the shift rotation after obtaining proper licensure. Essential Functions of the Job / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB - Assist in the operation of boilers and auxiliary equipment under the direct supervision of licensed personnel. Learn to monitor and interpret temperature, pressure, and fluid levels of power plant systems. Assist Maintenance Workers and other plant staff as needed. Perform routine boiler water testing and assist with adjustments to maintain proper water chemistry.
