The Biosimulation Lab Specialist is responsible for supporting the Biosimulation lab in a manner aligned with Resolution's core values and maintains compliance to all regulations and company procedures.
DescriptionJob SummaryThe function of the Product Development Organization is to provide Engineering Services in support of prototype to concept stage realization of Medical Device Product Innovations for start-ups to Fortune 100 sized clients. The Biosimulation lab is an extension of product development, offering complementary device testing services with anatomically representative models. The Biosimulation Lab Specialist is responsible for supporting the Biosimulation lab in a manner aligned with Resolution's core values and maintains compliance to all regulations and company procedures.Note: This position is part-time (up to 29 hours/week) and temporary. The anticipated duration of the role is 3 months, ending in November 2025. There is a possibility that the role will become full-time and permanent based on an evaluation of ongoing business needs in November.Essential Functions
- Responsible for the ordering/stocking of all Lab supplies including synthetic, animal and human tissues for test models, consumables (guidewires, introducers, etc.)
- Tracks inventory and cost changes
- Ensures lab is following all OSHA requirements and creates processes as needed
- Interfaces with global Biosimulation engineers and program manager (both locally in Minneapolis, as well as Eindhoven team)
- Fosters relationships with current and future clients
- Participate in all laboratory operations, including but not limited to:
- Cadaveric & Animal Tissue Prep, preservation & cannulation
- Biosimulator set up & operation
- Supporting engineers in client studies, miscellaneous activities
- Decontaminating lab, as needed
- General housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned
- Operates, maintains, and calibrates lab equipment, as needed.
- Operates Imaging equipment (ultrasound/fluoroscopy) as needed.
RequirementsRequirements:
- Associate in animal science, veterinary science/technology, biology or similar degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience at preclinical facility required.
- A combination of equivalent experience or education is acceptable.
- Exposure to surgical terminology, anatomy (cardiac preferred) and surgical technique
- Background in veterinary medicine preferred (i.e. Drug interactions, bypass, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills
- Must be able to work under pressure with a strong sense of urgency
- Strong Analytical / problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to collect, summarize and report technical information
- Ability to handle and be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information
- Able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner
- Willingness to learn the functions of ultrasound and fluoroscopy
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing while wearing lead (up to 8 hours/day)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times unassisted
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination
- Must wear gown, gloves, ear protection and other personal protective equipment when applicable
- Must be able to interact/handle animal and cadaveric tissues, working with embalming chemicals and working with radiation producing imaging equipment
Summary Of BenefitsThis position will accrue Earned Sick & Safe Time at the rate of 1 hour of ESST for every 30 hours worked.CompensationThe typical base pay range for this role is between $23.00-30.00/hour. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience.Seniority level
