Biomedical Equipment Technician III Location: Elmira, NY 14905, USA Compensation: $27.36 - $33.86 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,500

About the Role:

Join a passionate Clinical Engineering team as a Biomedical Equipment Technician III! In this vital position, you'll provide advanced technical expertise for preventive maintenance, repair, and evaluation of a wide range of patient and non-patient medical equipment. You'll also mentor and support fellow Biomedical Technicians and collaborate closely with vendors on technical projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to partner with clinical, engineering, and administrative teams — all while directly impacting outstanding patient care.

Administrative Duties

  • Keep detailed and accurate records using Clinical Engineering work orders.

  • Stay sharp with the latest Clinical Engineering trends through ongoing research and training.

  • Manage parts and supply requests efficiently.

  • Take on-call duties to provide emergency technical support as scheduled.

  • Prepare thorough technical reports for projects, studies, and investigations.

  • Coordinate work assignments and collaborate on technical initiatives with other BMETs.

  • Assist with travel documentation and reimbursement for offsite visits.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and testing on diverse medical and clinical devices.

  • Install new medical systems and ensure all installation documentation is completed promptly.

  • Assess demonstration units and deliver comprehensive technical feedback.

  • Lead in-service training sessions to educate Arnot Health personnel on safe and effective equipment use.

  • Investigate and document root causes of equipment failures to prevent future issues.

  • Perform regular calibration and testing to maintain optimal device performance.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical, Electronic, or Computer Technology with 4+ years related experience.

  • Solid understanding of pneumatics, mechanics, hydraulics, chemistry, and physiology.

  • ICC Certification is a strong plus.

  • Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment comfortably.

Work Schedule

Primarily day shifts, with occasional schedule adjustments to support essential repairs and maintenance activities.
