Job Responsibilities
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and repair of general, specialized and/or high-tech medical equipment and systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of required test equipment and electronics, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical skills.
- Interpret and utilize service manuals, schematics, and other information to perform maintenance and repairs according to SOPs.
- Work on non-medical devices such as Rapiscan, Gatekeeper, Evolv, Higi, etc., occasionally.
- Perform complex troubleshooting and repairs independently on designated modalities.
- Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment using proper methods and techniques.
- Read and interpret prints and schematics for repair and calibration.
- Manage work order triaging, spare parts stock, and operate PC hardware and Microsoft software.
- Communicate effectively with customers and staff, instruct on equipment use, and submit reports timely.
- Maintain reports, cycle counts, shipping needs, and other projects as assigned.
- Be a self-starter, manage work independently, and be flexible for nationwide travel.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electronics or completion of DoD Biomedical Equipment Repair School, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical equipment repair and maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Strong customer relations, judgment in complex repairs, and advanced electronic knowledge.
- Understanding of software applications interfacing with equipment, regulatory requirements, anatomy, physiology, wiring color codes, and electronic testing.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, stair climbing, and using hands for tools.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move up to 125 lbs. without assistance.
Additional Information
- Entry level, full-time position in Management and Manufacturing industries.
- Flexible for occasional nationwide overnight and weekend travel.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
