Responsibilities

The Biomed Technician I performs maintenance and repair duties under close supervision of BSI management. This role is the front-line employee most visible to clinicians using patient care equipment in the Medical Equipment Management Program. Responsibilities include installing, testing, calibrating, and repairing biomedical equipment to support patient diagnosis and treatment while ensuring safe operations. Availability for after-hours work and on-call rotating schedules is required. The technician also ensures equipment compliance with regulatory standards and quality control. This position relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline with 0-1 years' experience or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, and other standards and regulations preferred.
  • High degree of self-motivation, commitment, and integrity.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, clinical applications, and CMMS systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics and blueprints.
  • Field-related technical certifications (e.g., A+, CBET, CCE, CHTM) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required within the first 60 days of hire.

The estimated total compensation range for this role is $18.05 to $26.15, determined at the time of hire based on experience, education, credentials, and skillset.
