Bindery Operator - Entry Level - AlphaGraphics of Rochester-US739 : Job Details

Job Purpose

We are actively seeking a Part Time Bindery Operator to join our team! The Bindery operator is primarily responsible for operating various equipment and machines to finish products that have been printed so they can be delivered to the customer.

What We'll Expect of you:

• Be a quick learner
• Operate Bindery Tools, Equipment, Machines, Laminator
• Learn how to use the wright tool for the right job
• Sit and stand for long periods, bend, stoop, lift, use your hands
• Serious commitment to accuracy, quality, and safety
• Examine stitched, collated, bound, or unbound product samples for defects, such as imperfect bindings, misaligned folded booklet pages, ink spots or blemish, torn pages, loose pages
• Read work orders to determine machine set up, tool use, and resources required to complete jobs
• Be knowledgeable of all specification and details of jobs active on shop floor
• Be knowledgeable of changes or revisions to jobs active on shop floor
• Follow instructions for cost-effective method for handling each job; interface with Production Supervisor regarding alternate methods that may increase productivity and efficiency
• Perform frequent quality checks to catch any defects and assure accuracy of jobs throughout bindery & finishing processes
• Be aware of job deadlines
• Determine a job process that facilitates packaging and delivery (i.e. work in quantities of 10 or 25)
• Effectively interact with team members to increase productivity
• Interface with Production Supervisor/Team Leader in regards to any concerns/problems related to jobs active on shop floor
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
• Maintain generally neat and orderly appearance of production area
• Misc. duties as needed

• The ability to pay attention to detail and focus on accuracy
• The ability to setup and use bindery equipment efficiently and effectively
• Use both hands equally well
• Use automatic and manual crimping tools
• Strong organizational skills
• Two years of bindery operation experience preferred
