BIM Technician - Structural Design - Gables Search Group : Job Details

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering firm seeking a BIM Technician for their Nashville office. This role supports structural engineering projects ranging from building expansions to large-scale new construction (up to 800,000+ SF). You'll create accurate models and contract drawings that meet both internal and client design standards while collaborating closely with engineers and project managers. Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and maintain precise BIM models and contract drawings
• Update or refine company standards, templates, and detail libraries
• Perform self-checks to ensure quality before final review
• Assist with modeling/drafting for projects outside your specialty as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or similar
• Hands-on experience in construction or structural engineering (3+ years)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, and Navisworks
• Working knowledge of commercial building codes and structural design references
• Ability to work independently or within a team to meet project deadlines

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Grasshopper, Dynamo, Rhino, Civil3D, Tekla
• Experience creating custom Revit families
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
