Job Description :

The BIM Technician will prepare and/or modify detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by architect. They will use Revit to create and store technical drawings electronically. These drawings contain information on how to build or renovate a structure, including, but not limited to, the dimensions of any and all project elements, and materials needed to produce the project, and drawing, identifying and creating schedules of furniture, fixtures and equipment to be installed. Responsibilities

  • Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, construction drawings for similar projects and other data.
  • Add details to architectural plans from on-the-job knowledge of building techniques and detail library.
  • Lay out and plan interior space arrangements based on similar projects.
  • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.
  • Prepare/modify multiple versions of designs for review by owners and architects.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Identify information on drawings - categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Provide updates to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates on a regular basis.
  • Keep up to date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs and determine whether or not conflicts exist.
  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
  • Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.
  • Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to clients, project partners, and other external sources, exchanging information in person, in writing, or by phone or e-mail.

  • Strong knowledge of the current version of Revit.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD that is currently in use.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and video display monitor.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb steps or ladder, and tolerate airborne environmental nuisances associated with building construction sites.
  • Ability to visually survey, measure and assess project site, site elements, and project while under construction.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a timely manner.
An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Requirements
  • 3 or more years of professional experience within an architectural or design related industry.
  • Certificate or associates degree in Drafting.
  • Completion of a Revit proficiency assessment may be required.
  • Previous experience within an architectural or engineering industry is preferred but not required.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
