Job Description :

Our client, an electrical service contractor, is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist with accounting/finance skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with all teams. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines. The Billing Specialist will report to the Head of Billing and will be responsible for billing and paperwork associated with designated jobs as assigned by the Head of Billing.

Location: Winston-Salem, NC (100% onsite)

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Pay Range: $24-$28/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Manage billing for assigned accounts
  • Confer with owner's representative for assigned accounts
  • Assist, as needed, with end-of-year closeouts and audits
  • Ensure all billing goes out on time and is correct
  • Review and processing of contractor's invoicing according to company and client's guidelines, not limited to AIA forms and lien waivers
  • Ensuring all documents meet set standards in terms of quality and compliance
  • Manage and maintain all controlled documents, including processing and recording revisions
  • Support Project Managers and project teams with document control and distribution tasks
  • Review contracts of new projects for unusual terms or structure that may have an impact on billings
  • Initiate requests for billing information from the Team members and review for accuracy and completeness
  • Review all project-specific subcontracts and POs for accuracy

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of billing experience
  • Strong communication, including writing, speaking, and active listening
  • Great customer service skills. Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Basic math, bookkeeping, and accounting skills
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of customer information
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Prior billing experience and knowledge of Foundation or similar software is preferred but not required
  • General understanding of electronic billing
