Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range $25.00/hr - $35.00/hrAbout Us: Endoscopy Center of the North Shore is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering high-quality patient care and dedicated to providing a supportive and efficient environment for both our patients and staff.Position Overview: The Billing and Coding Coordinator is responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, ensuring timely and compliant billing for gastroenterology and anesthesiology services. This role plays a vital part in optimizing revenue cycle performance, minimizing claim denials, and maintaining coding accuracy per CMS, payer-specific guidelines, and specialty-specific best practices.This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote weekly once initial onboarding and training are complete.Key Responsibilities:Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ASA codes for all gastroenterology and anesthesia services,including endoscopic procedures, sedation, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC).Review clinical documentation, operative/procedure reports, and anesthesia records to ensure proper codingand medical necessity.Submit clean claims to insurance carriers and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical teams to clarify documentation or correct codingMonitor payer policies and billing rules specific to gastroenterology and anesthesia to ensure compliance andAssist with internal coding audits and implement corrective actions based on audit result'sTrack and report coding productivity, denial trends, and reimbursement delays to management.Maintain confidentiality and protect patient data in accordance with HIPAA regulations.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree or relevant certification required.Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent required.Experience: Minimum 2 years of coding and billing experience in a medical practice or hospital setting,preferably with gastroenterology and/or anesthesiology.Technical Skills: Experience with EHR systems (e.g., gGastro, EPIC, ModMed) and billing platforms.Competitive salary based on experienceHealth, short term disability, life insurance, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with employer contributionPaid time off and holidaysOpportunity to work remotely a few days per weekSeniority level Seniority level Entry levelEmployment type Employment type Full-timeJob function Job function Health Care ProviderGet notified when a new job is posted.
