Job Summary: This role will support and contribute to a successful Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team. A full-time Safety & Training Specialist will conduct health and safety trainings in Spanish and English as well as supporting the EH&S and team with project safety responsibilities. This role will help deliver and facilitate the EH&S initiatives in support of the company's safety & training plans, objectives, and goals. They will ensure the development and delivery of high quality, innovative and engaging training programs, while maintaining accurate and timely training records and reports. This role will also include a safety component where you will learn and manage EH&S compliance on projects site in accordance with company polies and procedures through safety training, site specific project safety plans, orientation and site safety inspections. Job Responsibilities- Safety Training
  • Help to develop and deliver in-house Safety Training.
  • Organize, coordinate and conduct EH&S training courses in Spanish and English at our inhouse training location, training offsite and on constructions sites.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the training calendar as necessary.
  • Class facilitation. This includes classroom setup, sign in sheets, class rosters, and virtual training setup.
  • Train and educate employees in Spanish and English, including subcontractor employees when needed or required. Conduct site specific orientations in English and Spanish as required.
  • Working with HR to coordinate new hire drug testing, and new hire orientation programs.
  • Prepare instructional programs and documents in English and Spanish and instruct trainees in theoretical and practical aspects covering the subjects being taught.
  • Test trainees to evaluate their learning progress and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction.
  • Maintain a quality and accurate training record database in our dedicated Learning Management System.
  • Develops, prepares, and maintains safety and training related records, reports, and other correspondence.
  • Training includes new hire orientations, equipment training certifications, first aid CPR, OSHA 30 training and other training initiatives as needed.
  • Manage training materials including ordering workbooks, personal protective equipment, first aid/CPR supplies for training programs as required by the training manager.
  • Perform additional training assignments as requested by the Training Manager.
  • Ability to travel and work at jobsites throughout the state of Colorado, on occasion in Wyoming, and Montana regions.
Job Responsibilities- Environmental Safety and Health
  • Ability to learn, interpret and apply Haselden Construction Environmental & Safety programs.
  • Assists the EH&S Department in formulating site specific safety plans.
  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure project compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams on incident investigations as it relates to non-compliance with project standards. Compile required information to support the incident investigation.
  • Perform on site first aid requirements and recommend medical treatment when required.
  • Perform additional EH&S assignments as requested by the EH&S Team.

  • Must be Bilingual - English & Spanish (This is translation and interpretation)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Commercial construction experience required.
  • Related safety and training experience.
  • Time management and schedule coordination.
  • Ability to interpret and present technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and collate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • Complete knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Pass a background check and MVR requirement
  • Ability to work at elevations, operate heavy equipment, use hand tools, power tools, climb ladders, use scaffolding, wear fall protection and work in inclement weather at times.
  • Effectively present information to the project team, senior management and groups of employees.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA compliance requirements.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Office environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally high. The individual will be required to climb ladders, walk up many flights of stairs, access scaffolds, wear fall protection and be able to access roof systems.
  • Construction jobsites.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of related safety and training experience is preferred.
  • Construction field experience preferred.
  • OSHA certifications are preferred.
  • OSHA 500 Instructor preferred but not required.
  • Experience with first aid and CPR training is preferred.
  • Equipment operator training preferred.
Salary: The salary range for this position is $75,000 - 85,000 per year. Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.
