Position Overview The BigCommerce Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing e-commerce solutions using BigCommerce. This role requires deep technical expertise, a strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that meet client needs. Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design: Architect end-to-end e-commerce solutions on BigCommerce, including custom integrations, storefront designs, and third-party app configurations.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, performance optimization, and scalability.
- Customization & Development: Develop custom themes, templates, and functionalities using BigCommerce Stencil, Handlebars, and JavaScript.
- Integration: Design and implement integrations with payment gateways, ERP systems, CRMs, and other third-party tools using BigCommerce APIs and webhooks.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize storefront performance, including page load times, SEO, and user experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews, ensure compliance with BigCommerce standards, and oversee testing to deliver bug-free solutions.
- Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation for architectures, customizations, and integrations to support ongoing maintenance.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of BigCommerce platform updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
QualificationsExperience:
- 5+ years of experience in e-commerce platform development, with at least 3 years focused on BigCommerce.
- Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex BigCommerce projects.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in BigCommerce Stencil framework, Handlebars, and JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of BigCommerce APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certifications: BigCommerce certifications (e.g., BigCommerce Stencil Developer, BigCommerce Platform Expert) are a plus. #DICE #REMOTE #LI-BB1
