Position Title: Big Data Systems Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a Big Data Systems Engineer to support the Test Resource Management Center's (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team, deploying BD and KM systems for DoD testing ranges and acquisition programs.

Job Summary: This is a remote position, allowing work from home or KBR facilities with a stable internet connection.

The engineer will deploy and integrate CHEETAS, a data analytics project, at multiple DoD ranges and labs, working closely with system administrators and developers to resolve deployment issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and integrate CHEETAS at various DoD environments.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and operation.
  • Document procedures and troubleshoot issues.
  • Travel approximately 25%, possibly up to 50%, across U.S. DoD sites.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. government TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 10 years of DoD experience; entry-level not considered.
  • Experience with Hadoop, SQL Server Big Data Cluster, Kubernetes, CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat, Windows Server, VMWare.
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience in big data environments.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience deploying Big Data and Knowledge Management tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with diverse teams.
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years in government/defense labs.
  • Experience with DoD acquisition programs and cybersecurity policies.

Compensation and Benefits: $150,000–$200,000, with benefits including 401K, health insurance, paid time off, and career development opportunities.
