Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, the BFS Packaging Manager role at Unither Pharmaceuticals is responsible for delivering production objectives within the assigned area, establishing performance indicators for continuous improvement, managing staffing and training needs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and fostering a positive work environment. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities
  • Production Planning, Performance Objectives and Monitoring (30%)
    • Represents Operations in the pre-S&OP process to ensure production plans meet current and future requirements, and reflect non-commercial activities that would impact the production schedule.
    • Ensures that appropriate levels of trained resources are available to meet production schedules.
    • Establish and track performance objectives for production, ensuring continuous improvement year on year.
    • Break down overall production objectives into specific targets by activity, line, and manager.
    • Monitor production performance daily, ensuring timely reporting and communication of results.
    • Ensure that performance is displayed by line and regularly inform team members about their performance metrics.
  • Production Improvement Plans (25%)
    • Initiate and manage improvement projects with Industrial Engineering and project team members.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of critical actions and propose necessary adjustments to production processes.
    • Analyze failures and propose organizational changes or adjustments to production equipment as needed.
  • Compliance and Documentation (20%)
    • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements.
    • Participate in the creation and updating of Quality system documents, ensuring adherence by the team.
    • Report any critical deviations regarding product, facility, or procedural compliance to the Quality department.
  • Team Management and Development (25%)
    • Ensures self and staff understand the organization's vision, values, goals and strategies and their relationship to their daily work.
    • Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staff, training and qualifications are in place.
    • Understands HR policies and practices and uses them to manage employees.
    • Conduct annual evaluations to assess team development and performance.
    • Foster a culture of communication and engagement within the production teams.
Your profileQualifications / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, with a strong preference for experience in GMP-regulated or quality-driven environments.
  • Proven managerial skills with a focus on coaching and team development.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience will be considered.

  • Proven ability to analyze performance data and implement effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizing skills, operational decision making ability, adaptability, and ability to build strategic relationships and facilitate change.
Physical Requirements / Environment
  • Must be able to work at a computer work station for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use all necessary PPE such as safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection.
  • Traditional office environment, with frequent visits to other areas of the facility, including production areas, loading docks, maintenance areas and laboratories.
  • Sitting 40% of the day; standing or walking 60%.
  • Lifting requirements are slight and occasional.
  • This position requires work in both the office and GMP manufacturing environment.
Decision making & supervision
  • SCOPE OF DECISION-MAKING: Decisions require basic/routine analytical judgment. Plan and perform diversified duties requiring knowledge of a particular field and the use of a wide range of procedures. Involves the exercise of judgment in the analysis of facts or conditions regarding individual problems or transactions to determine what action should be taken within the guidelines or standard practice.
  • LEVEL OF SUPERVISION PROVIDED: Direct supervision responsibility, including performance assessments, of more than 10 employees.
  • INTERNAL / EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Regular inside and outside the organization; requires regular contact with subordinates and/or other departments, with occasional contacts with individuals outside the organization. Also includes jobs with regular customer/client contacts.
Compensation

Compensation Range: USD 100,000.00 - 120,000.00

  • The referenced compensation range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within this range based on market data, education, experience, and internal equity.
