Beverage Director - Emerald Lounge, LLC : Job Details

Emerald Lounge is seeking a highly motivated leader to manage all liquor and beverage operations within the venue. The Beverage Director will lead a team of trained professionals, executing innovative programming while ensuring financial success. The role involves planning and management to achieve guest, employee, corporate, and owner satisfaction, along with exceeding financial goals.

Job Duties

• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills;
• Collaborate with the finance team to create reports and meet budget targets;
• Coordinate with hotel departments to enhance the guest experience;
• Leverage social networks for marketing in partnership with the General Manager;
• Oversee daily nightlife and special event operations;
• Ensure consistent application of systems and procedures;
• Develop partnerships with local nightlife influencers to increase visibility;
• Review month-end reports and provide feedback to ownership;
• Work closely with GM and ownership on programming, bookings, marketing, and staffing;
• Manage inventory, COGS, labor, and cost controls;
• Maintain excellent customer relations;
• Manage cash procedures;
• Resolve customer complaints to maintain satisfaction;
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor;
• Implement emergency procedures with security staff;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Emerald Lounge is an upscale cocktail and hookah destination in East Lake, Birmingham, Alabama. We focus on craft cocktails, regional beers, and low-intervention wines, with seasonal menus and house-made ingredients. We value hospitality and are committed to providing an excellent guest experience.

We operate with 2-3 bartenders nightly, starting shifts at 3 pm for management. Compensation is competitive, including tips, with opportunities for upward mobility. Our staff occasionally assists with guest service beyond beverages, including hookah service.
