• Works within the Bureau of Engineering Services (BES) to plan, schedule and perform water sample collection for drinking water contaminants at public water system sources, treatment facilities, and distribution systems
• Conducts field measurements of residual chlorine concentration, and other water quality parameters in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Tracks, schedules, and conducts re-sampling of incomplete analysis reports and follow-up compliance or investigative sampling for maximum contaminant level detections and/or water complaints within required timeframe.
• Coordinates and schedules sample collections and analyses with certified laboratories.
• Provides technical assistance in planning and location of point of collection taps for routine or investigative monitoring purposes.
• Assists with emergency response sampling activities as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills.
• Great attention to detail and follow up.
• Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
• Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.

DESIRED:

• Advanced degree.
• Bachelor's degree in health sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year professional experience performing water sample collection.
• Minimum 1 year professional experience with reporting or data analysis.
• Relevant industry certifications.
