Group Management Services (GMS) is looking for an energetic and client focused individual to fill the role of Benefits Account Manager in the Charlotte, NC office.SUMMARY: The Benefits Account Manager (BAM) will be responsible for preparation and delivery of benefits renewals, and meeting retention quotas. The BAM will also serve as the primary contact for clients to provide daily customer service, build relationships, and meet in person per GMS guidelines.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Build relationships throughout the year with clients, ensuring quality service to support the Benefits renewal process.
  • Meet with and educate both GMS clients prior to renewal to review plan usage, trends and claims that drive the renewal. Handle 6 month claims meetings for self funded groups.
  • Initiate quoting process with clients. Collect, organize, and submit information to quoting specialist and underwriting team.
  • Prepare renewal package for GMS blocks of business.
  • Create the renewal proposal package including client specific reporting and recommended changes to the current offering.
  • Present benefits package to client; explain plan designs and options for plan adjustments while making recommendations on changes to current offerings where necessary.
  • Conduct informational and enrollment meetings with client and their employees to explain healthcare plan which could include new hire benefit meetings.
  • Maintain a high rate of client retention through quality service.
  • Keep record of customer interactions by recording details of inquiry, complaints and comments as well as action taken in GMS' CRM system.
  • Work with other Benefits and GMS team members to ensure a positive customer experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education
  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years Benefits Account Management or related experience required.
Experience
  • Experience in health insurance, account management and customer service preferred.
Certification/Licenses
  • Current Ohio License in Life and Health Insurance is required - or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
Other Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license is required; must be able to travel 50% of the time. Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups; excellent interpersonal skills.
