Position Title: Bell - College Work Experience Program - Technical

Location: Ft. Worth

Job Family: Technical

Position Status: Part-time

Work Hours: Standard (12 – 25 hours per week during spring and fall semesters; up to 40 hours per week during breaks with Supervisor approval)

Hourly Wage: $25

Duration: Funding expected to continue

Open to: University Wide *(Internal Only)*

Job Summary: The UTA Bell College Work Experience Program (CWEP) allows undergraduate students to gain real-world work skills relevant to their academic and career goals. As a UTA Student Worker at Bell, you will combine your passion and knowledge to solve challenges related to rotorcraft products. You will work with a team that shares your commitment to innovation and improvement.

Roles for Mechanical Engineering Majors could include:

Designer Role:

  • Initiate, design, and document engineering changes for part revisions.
  • Create model-based definitions, including 2D and 3D annotations for aircraft components.

Analysis Role:

  • Perform detailed analyses for advanced vertical lift system components using classical and finite element methods (FEM).
  • Review part or assembly definitions before production release.
Roles for Electrical Engineering Majors could include:
  • Participate in the planning and management of new aircraft avionics within an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Build and test computer systems in a modular architecture.
Roles for Aerospace Engineering Majors could include:

Flight Test:

  • Support experimental testing with the flight test team.

R&M Role:

  • Perform Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).

Systems Role:

  • Support development of requirements and specifications for subsystems and components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties will vary based on the position provided by Bell.

Required Qualifications:

  • Majors considered: Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering.
  • A U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
  • Junior or Senior status.
  • Full-time enrollment at UTA with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Agreement to background and drug screening.
