Full-Time Mental Health Technician (Mht) Position Available

Five 8-hour shifts, including every other weekend and holiday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, floating units. A 2-week orientation is mandatory from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary: In this rewarding role, you will provide direct patient care to geriatrics, adults, adolescents, and children with psychiatric disorders to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients. Responsibilities include monitoring unit patients, completing rounds as assigned, participating in treatment planning, assisting in the admission process, orienting new patients to the unit and their program, planning and preparing for group therapy sessions, and maintaining patient, program, department, and related documentation.

Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor's degree in psychology or similar previous experience with adults in a behavioral health setting. Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and organization skills, highly effective listening skills, and strong clinical skills. Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred. CPR certification and completion of Handle with Care training during orientation process.
