Description Are you passionate about supporting children and creating an inclusive camp environment? We're looking for a Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team and make a lasting impact on campers and child care participants. This position focuses onsupporting campers with behavioral needs, coaching staff, and creating inclusive experiences for all participants. Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with campers who need additional behavioral support.
- Assist children with social skills development and participation in camp activities.
- Implement behavioral support plans and de-escalation techniques.
- Train and coach staff on best practices for positive behavior management.
- Collaborate with families and staff to create individualized strategies for success.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with state and local requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, special education, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years working with children in camp, school, or clinical settings.
- Knowledge of PBIS, ABA, or trauma-informed care is a plus!
- Must obtain CT Child Care CPR/First Aid certification upon hire. CPI or de-escalation training preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to engage with campers, staff, and families.
