The Division of Health Psychology at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital is excited to announce an opening for a part-time (32 hours/week) behavioral health clinician (LCSW, PhD, or PsyD) at Hartford HealthCare's Tallwood Men's Health center located at 10 Birdseye Road, Farmington (10377). The Tallwood Men's Health center features a collaborative, clinically integrated team offering a range of specialties including urology, cardiology, endocrinology, and medical and surgical weight loss, servicing over 14,000 patients annually.

About the Role

The behavioral health clinician will play a pivotal role in a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the health of men facing various medical challenges such as sexual dysfunction, cancer, obesity, sleep disorders, and heart disease. Recognizing the impact of behavioral health, the clinician will develop a robust program addressing the unique challenges men encounter in accessing care, particularly concerning sensitive issues. This thrilling outpatient clinic position is ideal for professionals eager to help individuals with adjustment to diagnoses, chronic pain management, stress coping strategies, and promotion of healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral health services including diagnostic assessments and treatment evaluations for medical patients on-site, collaborating with medical providers.
  • Utilize screening measures and assessment tools effectively.
  • Manage data, including tracking symptoms and treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in program development processes.
  • Create and implement psychoeducational materials for medical settings.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to case management and coordination efforts.
  • Maintain comprehensive treatment records independently.
  • Qualifications

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), PhD, or PsyD from an APA-accredited institution.
    • If holding a doctoral degree, completion of one year APA-approved internship in Clinical Psychology.
    • Licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut.
    • Experience in clinical health psychology within integrated primary care or other medical contexts.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
