Job Title: Behavioral Health Clinician Job Summary: To perform a combination of behavioral health clinical responsibilities, with a primary focus on therapy for children, youth, and adults. Provide therapy to individuals and groups, promoting optimum mental health and wellness. Will be responsible for conducting enrollment assessments as needed. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location: 801 North Holtzclaw Ave, Suite 101, Chattanooga, TN 37404 Position Responsibilities: 1. Engage in therapy with Consumers experiencing serious and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbances, substance abuse, suicidality, relationship issues, and other stressors. 2. Utilize evidence based therapeutic modalities to counsel Consumers and their supports, via individual, parent/caregiver, and group sessions, to assist in overcoming challenges, utilizing coping skills, and improving outcomes. 3. Develop and implement treatment plans collaboratively with Consumer based on clinical experience and knowledge. 4. Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and Consumers' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives. 5. Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in consumer's status. 6. Refer Consumers or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary. 7. Meet with families, clinic providers, care managers and other team members to collaborate on Consumer goals and improve their outcomes. 8. Collaborate with other staff members, primary care practice partners including pediatricians, doctors, nurse practitioners, office staff, and referral sources as assigned to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. 9. Provide quick access to care via high responsiveness and proactive engagement to eligible individuals and referral partners. 10. Perform enrollment process for individuals who have been referred to MHC, evaluating needs for all service lines (Care Management, Medication Management, Therapy). 11. Complete all enrollment assessment documentation to organizational standards. 12. Disposition Consumer to appropriate external resources for other mental health services when ineligible for MHC services. 13. Identify individuals that are in need of crisis services rather than routine intake. If appropriate, facilitate crisis intervention. 14. Assist in resolving any grievance received from a consumer regarding referral. 15. Utilize Intake Committee for all consumers who meet criteria who have a history of violence, sexual crimes or serious criminal activity. Write completed intake and email to Intake Committee for review. Contact consumer with decision. 16. Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies. 17. Meet productivity standards as indicated by department goals.
