Behavior Specialist - Beacon Specialized Living : Job Details

Position Summary:

The Behavior Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized behavior support plans for the individuals we serve. This role provides guidance, training, and support to direct care staff to ensure consistent application of behavioral interventions and promotes the overall well-being of residents. The Behavior Specialist works closely with interdisciplinary team members, families, and external providers to assess behavioral needs, analyze data, and implement proactive strategies that enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in psychology or related field required, Master's degree preferred.
• One year of work experience with developmental disabilities.
• Good understanding of behavior modification techniques and positive approaches
• Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and

superior listening skills

• Typing skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office

Essential Functions

• Implements and develops multi-site crisis management and behavioral management

support services including crisis counseling and on-site staff support, as well as hands on

physical crisis management assistance if required

• Develops, trains, distributes, and updates support guidelines, restrictive procedure plans,

and behavior management plans for use in the resident's home or vocational site
