Job Summary
QSAC is seeking dedicated and energetic Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS) for our Day Habilitation program. The role involves conducting assessments, developing behavior support plans, addressing challenges, and training QIDPs and DSPs. Locations include Queens Village, Jamaica, Astoria, and Manhattan.
Salary Range: $52,000 - $60,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate active treatment services per OPWDD regulations
- Develop, monitor, and assess monthly goals aligned with Life Plans
- Design and revise individual goals; oversee implementation
- Maintain clinical documentation as per NY State regulations
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with reports and updates
- Assist with intake, assessments, and clinical decisions
Training & Support
- Train DSPs in ABA principles and techniques
- Provide direct instruction and support for goal achievement
- Support arrival, dismissal, drills, and staffing needs
- Collaborate with supervisors; assist with disciplinary actions
- Communicate effectively about behavioral issues
- Conduct staff observations and provide feedback
- Work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- Foster respectful relationships with families and staff
Qualifications
- Master's degree in sociology, special education, rehabilitation, counseling, psychology, or related fields
- 1-2 years' experience in ABA supports for autism (preferred)
- Knowledge of behavioral analysis theories and assessments
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities/autism
- Valid driver's license; ability to assist with lifting and run when necessary
