Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) - Tandym Group : Job Details

A leading multi-service organization in the New York City metropolitan area is currently seeking a dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) to join their team in Brooklyn and Queens. This full-time role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community-based setting.

About the Opportunity:

• Hybrid or Remote: Fieldwork required
• Shift: Flexible schedule between 7 AM and 5 PM
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, with optional weekends
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible scheduling with breaks
• Setting: Group homes

Responsibilities:

• Developing functional behavioral assessments and support plans
• Providing individual and group counseling
• Presenting psychotropic medications to the Human Rights Committee
• Training staff in behavior support plan implementation
• Referring individuals for psychiatric and psychological care

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of related work experience in the field
• Master's Degree in a related field
• Proficiency in Data Analysis and support plan development
• Experience with Mental Health services coordination
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Flexibility and reliability
• Empathy and professionalism

Desired Skills:

• 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Master's Degree in Psychology
• BCBA certification
• Expertise in Behavior Support plan training
• Strong problem-solving skills
