As the Director, you'll be the driving force behind every aspect of the operation of the Healthy Kids Program Site.JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-ExemptSCHEDULE: 2:20 pm - 5:00 pmPAY: $17.00 per hourRESPONSIBILITIES:Ensuring Compliance: Make sure the program and staff follow OCFS regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and the host schools rules.Bringing the Fun: Lead engaging, hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. And yes, you'll also help with homework be the homework hero!Managing Effectively: Oversee key management duties such as maintaining accurate attendance, managing registration, and ensuring proper staffing to keep things running smoothly.Communicating with Families: Keep open communication with parents and family members via the Playground App.Team Collaboration: Regularly communicate with your direct report, ensuring theyre informed of daily activities and addressing any issues as they arise. By working together, well deliver the highest quality care, maintain a positive work atmosphere, and proactively tackle challenges.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:To be qualified as a director, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field, plus two years of direct experience working with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory role in a child care or related program.A New York State Childrens Program Administrator Credential, and two years of direct experience working with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory role in a child care or related field.A School-Age Child Care Credential (or another recognized credential for school-age children), with two years of experience working with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory position.An Associates Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field, with two years of experience working with children under 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.QUALIFICATIONS:Must successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting, references, and SEL & SCR checks through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.Must be medically cleared by a doctor to perform all job duties and free from communicable diseases, including TB.You are warm, approachable, and enthusiastic. Excellent people skills are essential, whether working with children, parents, or team members.
