Exempt Position

Monday - Friday - Day Shift - NO Weekends

Salary range based on experience: $86K - $95K / year

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides quality ABA services to the patients on the Specialty Pediatric Unit. In addition, the BCBA serves as the professional who develops and implements ongoing services to the staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the implementation of ABA programming on the Specialized Pediatric Unit.
  • Provide supervision to the Registered Behavior Technicians and Behavioral Health Associates.
  • Train new staff on ABA techniques.
  • Keep abreast of advances in treatment and set appropriate goals for self-improvement.
  • Facilitate daily team meetings.
  • Attend staff meetings as required and complete all yearly mandatory in-services.
  • Provide direct services to the patients on the Specialized Pediatric Unit.
  • Conduct the appropriate assessments in a timely manner.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain license or certification in good standing.
  • Flexible schedule. Possible weekends or evenings when appropriate.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Program Unit Manager:

  • Develop and maintain administrative and clinical operations that provide quality care and outcomes for the patients.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of program goals, objectives, personnel, resources, and equipment. Implement the approved program plan objectives, timetables, expected outcomes, and measures for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee the program's budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements, and benefits.
  • Direct counselors, clinical staff, or other facility/clinic staff involved in the delivery of services through the program.
  • Provide management and oversight for the facility program.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure efficient operations of the program; continually identify opportunities to improve program efficiency; coordinate care delivery, work flow; oversee scheduling, registration, discharge, and billing processes for the persons receiving services according to facility/clinic procedures.
  • Provide staff management including hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
  • Be responsible for an assigned caseload if applicable to the program.
  • Monitor staff schedules to ensure that appropriate staffing levels are available to facilitate care in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, and maintain and audit charts and records for persons receiving services.
  • Serve as liaison and provide consultation with other staff on related issues, regulations, and standards pertaining to the area of clinical specialty.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures for the program or organization; ensure that procedures and workflow are consistent with organizational objectives, treatment protocol, regulations, and standards of care; ensure that operations conform to established environmental, safety, and infection control requirements.
  • Provide outreach services in the area of clinical specialty, as needed.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Experience with the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Experience with the adolescent population is preferred. Must be skilled and competent to provide services to the patient.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by BACB. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
