About the Role
Seaport Entertainment is looking for a bartender to be based in The Seaport. Reporting to the general manager, the bartender is responsible for a range of key tasks and duties that contribute to the overall success and ambiance of the establishment. You play a crucial role in enhancing the overall dining experience by crafting and serving a variety of beverages with precision and flair. Your mixology skills, attention to detail, and customer service expertise contribute to a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere in the restaurant.
What You Will Do
- Craft a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks, following recipes and customer preferences.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and engaging manner, taking drink orders, providing recommendations, and creating a positive and enjoyable experience.
- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked with liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other necessary supplies.
- Efficiently manage drink orders, prioritize tasks during peak hours, and ensure timely service to both bar and table guests.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and provide change and receipts as needed.
- Adhere to all relevant alcohol service laws and regulations, verifying the legal drinking age, and ensuring responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
- Promote specials, new menu items, and premium beverages to increase sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Actively seek and respond to customer feedback, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with other staff members, including servers, kitchen personnel, and management, to coordinate orders and provide seamless service.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of beverages, replenishing stock as needed and assisting with regular inventory checks.
- Stay informed about current beverage trends, new products, and mixology techniques to continuously enhance drink offerings.
- Ensure that bar equipment, glassware, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized regularly, maintaining a hygienic and safe environment.
- Contribute to the overall ambiance of the establishment by creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere for guests.
About You
- 2+ years bartender experience in a fine dining, high volume setting.
- Proficiency in mixing and preparing a variety of drinks with precision and creativity.
- Flexibility to adapt to different drink preferences, customer demands, and changing work environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage waitlist dynamics effectively.
- Positive and friendly attitude, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for order entry and payment processing.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
- Climbing steps regularly.
This position is paid a minimum wage and a tip credit is taken when applicable.
