Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with HR data and reporting requirements. This includes regulatory reporting such as Affordable Care Act, IPEDS, and NJ New Hire Report, as well as surveys, staffing and attrition data, and workforce reporting.
Create and maintain various audit reports, working closely with the data entry team to maintain the integrity of HR data.
Serve as a subject matter expert for the HR/Payroll module of Banner, escalating to Information Services Technology and/or Ellucian support when necessary.
Ensure the security of the HR system by reviewing system access for new and existing users, ensuring that access aligns directly with job functions and duties.

This group is the HRIS Team that is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of human resource systems activities associated with employee information, retrieval capabilities and reports as well as administering and improving system processes. Key functions include: Requests for HR Data (Reports) & Maintenance of HR Systems and Technology. There are two people on this HR team. This is the business side of HR (not the IT side) so the ability to understand the HR employees' reporting needs is required.
Because of the client's ERP transition to Workday expected to go live July 2026, the current HRIS Team is getting pulled in to work on the Workday implementation project. Assistance is needed to keep up with the Banner reporting requests with HR to ensure a 24-hour turn-around time on data requests.
Example of some of the self-serve, custom, ad-hoc or timely reporting include: data for bargaining units, union contract reporting, compensation analysis, state reporting for employee benefit tiers during open enrollment, regulatory reporting, etc. Some reporting could be seasonal (quarterly standings) or event-based (like open enrollment of benefits period). In addition, there could be instances where data summaries and executive level data reports/dashboards are required. There is no complex coding required, it more about SQL queries to pull data from existing Cognos reports to meet the reporting requests from various internal/external audiences within 24 hours. All the Cognos reports leverage data from Banner so knowledge of Banner HR data and light configuration skills will be necessary.
Candidates should have enough technical experience to catch data oddities, match/validate data, etc. Our client is in search of a HRIS Subject Matter Expert that has intimate knowledge of Ellucian Banner's HR & Payroll Modules. The candidate must possess experience and knowledge of Ellucian's Banner HR / Payroll Pay and Benefits.
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
