The Office of the Commissioner of Banking is responsible for chartering, examining and otherwise regulating all South Carolina state-chartered banks, savings banks, savings and loan associations, credit unions and trust companies. Working as a member of a team, examiners review the operations of state-chartered institutions and determine compliance with laws and regulations in order to help promote a safe and sound financial system. About the Position. Under limited supervision, performs and supervises examination activities for examining teams for examination of State chartered banks and credit unions to ensure that the banks and credit unions are operating in a safe and sound manner and are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
