Band Director/Music Teacher - New London Public Schools : Job Details

REPORTS TO: Principal or designee POSITION OVERVIEW: The Music Teacher will help foster a love for music, encourage student creativity, and support student learning across various areas of the subject, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Guide students in the achievement of curriculum goals related to music education. Prepare and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students. Select and employ instructional methods and materials suited to available resources, class size, and subject objectives. Provides instruction in marching techniques and drill performance. As required, provides coaching of instrumental sections of the band. Travels with the marching band to competitions and away games as designated by the marching band director.
