As an early engineer at Angle, you'll play a key role in architecting and scaling the core backend infrastructure that powers our healthcare platform. This is an opportunity to build systems from the ground up—designing APIs, structuring data models, and optimizing performance to support a high-growth company.

You'll work closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to bring new features to life, ensuring our systems are both scalable and reliable. From architecting backend services to debugging performance bottlenecks, you'll have full ownership of the product lifecycle—shaping everything from system design to implementation.

This position is based in our NYC office.

• Work directly with the Head of R&D in architecting and building Angle's backend infrastructure
• Collaborate with product owners & designers to build scalable implementations across multiple web products
• Support all phases of the application lifecycle: concept, design, testing, release, and support
• Build performant backend applications at scale
• Plan and develop new features with product leadership
• Ensure applications meet established quality standards

• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong understanding of business context and connecting engineering solutions to real-world problems
• Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics
• Familiarity with data structures, CI/CD, software development lifecycle, backend frameworks, and technical tools
• Proficiency in Python and Django; Java experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision

The salary range is $100,000 to $240,000 per year, depending on factors such as location, skills, and experience.
