Job Description :
AWS Cloud Engineer Location: Remote (with limited onsite travel to Washington, DC) We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to manage, configure, and optimize AWS environments supporting mission-critical workloads. This individual will play a key role in developing and implementing scalable, secure, and automated cloud solutions in line with best practices. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure Management: Administer, configure, and maintain AWS cloud systems and services.Design and manage AWS networking components including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and route tables.Ensure operational stability, scalability, and security across all AWS environments.Automation and Deployment:Automate the deployment of workloads using AWS tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK (Terraform preferred).Working knowledge of ECSWorking knowledge of Docker containers and build processesStrong Linux skillsCreate and maintain custom automation scripts using Python, Bash, or similar tools.Monitoring and Optimization:Monitor system health, resource usage, and costs to ensure high performance and operational efficiency.Standards and Best Practices:Develop and enforce operational standards and best practices for cloud deployments.Documentation and Support:Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for AWS infrastructure, processes, and workflows.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cloud systems meet evolving business needs. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 5–7 years of experience, Master's with 3–5 years, or Ph.D. with 0–2 years in AWS cloud administration, DevOps, or a related IT field.Strong understanding of AWS services.Working knowledge of ECS is required.Working knowledge of Docker containers and build processesStrong Linux skillsProficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, AWS CDK.Familiarity with JiraExperience scripting in Python, Bash, or other languages for cloud automation.Proven ability to implement cloud performance tuning.Strong communication and documentation skills.U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Preferred Qualifications:AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or AWS DevOps Professional.Experience working on federal government or highly regulated environments.Background in operational excellence and DevSecOps practices.
