Position Overview:

As an AVP Regional Dean at Galen College of Nursing, you will oversee and coordinate programs and activities supporting student education and retention at your assigned campuses. You will provide leadership to fulfill the College's mission, objectives, plans, and goals. The AVP, Regional Dean is the academic leader responsible for leading, supervising, and mentoring campus deans and/or associate deans to ensure effective daily operations, staffing, clinical activities, simulation, and student support services.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Administrator

  • May serve as the nursing program administrator for regulatory agencies, state boards of nursing, and programmatic accreditors.
  • Acts as acting dean when the campus dean is unavailable.
  • Outcomes

  • Leads campus academic leaders to deliver quality educational experiences that meet all performance metrics, including NCLEX pass rates, student retention, completion, satisfaction, and budget goals.
  • Ensures campuses effectively implement the College's curriculum and assessment processes.
  • Monitors and achieves goals outlined in the strategic plan and annual budget.
  • Develops and maintains fiscal resources and monitors student outcomes to meet budgetary targets.
  • Leads Campus Deans to ensure students and graduates meet learning, program, and role-specific competencies.
  • Implements systematic evaluation plans and uses findings to inform decision-making for continuous improvement.
  • Campus Academic Operations

  • Ensures recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and retention of quality faculty.
  • Supports faculty assignment, compensation, evaluation, and development.
  • Provides oversight to ensure quality customer service, compliance with policies, and adherence to accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains compliance with accreditation, licensure, and approval standards.
  • Fosters a culture of high employee satisfaction and student success.
  • Collaborates on campus growth initiatives and community engagement to align with healthcare workforce needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Position Requirements:

    Education: Graduate degree in Nursing and a Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution.

    Experience: 5-8 years of leadership in campus operations or nursing education, with strong communication, project management, and strategic presentation skills. Knowledge of nursing education, policies, regulations, and accreditation standards is required.

    Licensure and qualifications must meet State Board of Nursing requirements.

    Physical Requirements: Sedentary work with minimal physical demands, occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds), and frequent use of office equipment. Travel required.
