Summary

Within Aflac's Global Investments, the Private Assets Operations team supports private assets managed both internally and externally, working within the US Chief Operating Officer Group. The role involves supporting middle and back-office operational processes, including funding requirements, wire processing, cash management, reconciliations, and documentation management, all within the existing governance and control environment. The position also involves cross-training with other Operations teams within GI and collaborating with colleagues in Columbus, GA, and Japan, as directed by management.

Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Private Asset Operations

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Private Assets Operations: Collaborate with senior team members to support front office portfolio management for private debt and alternative assets in externally managed mandates. Assist with daily operational activities across various asset classes such as private credit, real estate debt, private equity, real estate equity, CLOs, ABS, and infrastructure debt. Responsibilities include:
    • Monitoring daily portfolio activity, identifying issues promptly, and communicating critical information internally and externally.
    • Communicating effectively with front office, data management, legal, operations, and accounting teams regarding deal closings, terms, and discrepancies.
    • Engaging with agent banks, issuers, and trustees regarding payment details.
    • Using agent notices and WSO to resolve complex position discrepancies.
    • Reviewing documentation and deal pipelines to ensure funding accuracy.
    • Managing wires, tracking fundings, and monitoring interest, fees, and principal payments.
    • Reviewing legal documents to ensure securities are correctly set up.
    • Monitoring custody workflows to ensure compliance with documentation and custody requirements.
    • Supporting documentation management across the platform.
    • Maintaining communication with custodians and issuers regarding payment issues.
    • Supporting monthly cash planning and management processes.
    • Serving as a liaison for external managers' service level agreements and reporting.
    • Assisting relationship managers with external service providers and ad-hoc matters.
    • Ensuring operational controls are followed and improved as needed.
    • Participating in system and process improvements, seeking automation opportunities.

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, engineering, information systems, computer science, or related field.

    Job Knowledge & Skills:

    Technical Skills:

    • Minimum of 6 years' experience in operations; asset management experience in insurance is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Understanding of investments and data accuracy improvement.
    • Excellent communication skills for management and stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with WSO or similar loan systems preferred.
    • Knowledge of private assets attributes and lifecycle.

    Non-Technical Skills:

    • Goal-oriented with clear execution plans aligned with business objectives.
    • Self-starter with problem-solving skills, able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    • Ability to mediate conflicting requirements and viewpoints.

    Additional Information:

    Aflac Global Investments operates in a hybrid environment requiring at least 3 days in the office weekly. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $175,000, based on experience, education, and other factors. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
