We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented candidate with strong business and underwriting acumen.The Marine Underwriting Manager will have responsibilities including but not limited to:Driving profitable growth of the Marine portfolio with agents and brokers throughout the New York Region, covering Ocean Cargo, Builder's Risk, Fine Arts, Contractors Equipment, Motor Truck Cargo, Transit, Installation Floaters, Equipment Dealers, and other Inland Marine coverages (renewal book of $45M and a new business goal of approximately $16M annually)Collaborating with underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and managementManaging the daily operations of six underwritersProviding guidance and developing team membersPerformance managementMarketing and maintaining agency relationshipsExpense managementIdentifying account rounding opportunities for other Chubb practicesKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExtensive knowledge and experience in Inland and Ocean Marine underwriting with solid risk analysis skillsProficiency with technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategiesAbility to develop, negotiate, and implement profitable pricing, coverage, terms, and conditionsStrong sales and marketing skills, with proven success in managing producer and broker relationshipsAbility to identify growth opportunities within new and existing sourcesEffective interaction with all customer levels and collaboration with underwriters, claims, and loss control personnelQualificationsAt least 5 years of Marine underwriting experienceProven marketing and negotiation skillsStrong communication, interpersonal, and time management skillsThe role offers a pay range of $145,000 to $190,000, depending on skills and other factors. It may also include participation in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb provides a comprehensive benefits package.
