Base pay range
$150,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr
Arch Insurance Group Inc. has an opening with the Claims Division as an Assistant Vice President, E&S Excess Casualty Claims. Responsibilities include leading claims strategies to optimize loss costs and customer satisfaction, managing the Complex claims department, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of communication and collaboration within the department
- Develop and lead all claim programs, metrics, and initiatives across the E&S casualty Excess claims unit
- Manage and develop Claims staff, focusing on talent management and succession planning
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial, and other teams to share knowledge on market trends and legal changes
- Oversee staff performance, training, and development strategies
- Implement cost containment strategies and manage expenses
- Support the development of annual operational goals, objectives, and budgets
- Ensure accurate and timely case reserving
- Communicate claim developments effectively with Underwriters, brokers, and reinsurers
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as needed
- Perform additional duties or projects as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree; Juris Doctorate preferred
- 10-12 years of experience in legal or insurance industry managing high-exposure claims, litigation, and coverage
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Technical knowledge of general liability claims handling
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams; willing to travel 15%
- Role is hybrid, with 2 days in office
