Arch Insurance Group Inc. has an opening with the Claims Division as an Assistant Vice President, E&S Excess Casualty Claims. Responsibilities include leading claims strategies to optimize loss costs and customer satisfaction, managing the Complex claims department, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with stakeholders.

• Foster a culture of communication and collaboration within the department
• Develop and lead all claim programs, metrics, and initiatives across the E&S casualty Excess claims unit
• Manage and develop Claims staff, focusing on talent management and succession planning
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial, and other teams to share knowledge on market trends and legal changes
• Oversee staff performance, training, and development strategies
• Implement cost containment strategies and manage expenses
• Support the development of annual operational goals, objectives, and budgets
• Ensure accurate and timely case reserving
• Communicate claim developments effectively with Underwriters, brokers, and reinsurers
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as needed
• Perform additional duties or projects as assigned

• Bachelor's degree; Juris Doctorate preferred
• 10-12 years of experience in legal or insurance industry managing high-exposure claims, litigation, and coverage
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Technical knowledge of general liability claims handling
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams; willing to travel 15%
• Role is hybrid, with 2 days in office
