Group OverviewAir Mobility Group (AIRMOB) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea's aerial refueling (AAR) capabilities, ensuring the readiness and operational effectiveness of the tanker fleet. AIRMOB oversees fleet management, maintenance, and airworthiness, working to sustain and enhance refueling operations. It manages the integration of new processes and technologies, ensuring that tanker aircraft remain mission-ready through effective logistics, maintenance oversight, and regulatory compliance. By coordinating across various teams, AIRMOB ensures the fleet meets both current and future operational needs, supporting a range of specialized air mobility missions. Position Summary Inspectors are directly responsible to the Head of Airworthiness for ensuring that all maintenance performed on Company aircraft, engines, appliances, and accessories is accomplished in accordance with approved Aircraft Technical Orders, Company programs, Contract requirements and FAA Regulations to maintain a continuous state of airworthiness. Inspectors ensure that safety is the first consideration in Quality Control and Maintenance Departments. Role and Responsibilities
Accomplish aircraft inspections, by the applicable maintenance program specifications, procedures, and criteria to detect and document discrepant or non-airworthy conditions. Ensure all special inspections are completed and documented correctly in the maintenance records. Perform required inspections (IPI and/or RII) on items as listed in technical/company manuals and following procedures listed in the GMM/technical data. Monitors workmanship and materials to verify that the Company, NAVAIR, and FAA rules, regulations, and standards are complied with. Ensure that aircraft modifications or component changes follow maintenance manual procedures or approved technical data procedures. Ensure all required inspection items (RII) are completed and documented properly, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) have been received, reviewed, and approved before any aircraft modification action. Perform receiving inspections of newly purchased, repaired, overhauled parts or continued service components and hardware to ensure proper documentation from approved vendors, absence of shipping damage, proper packaging, protection, and airworthiness certification. Ensure assistance in the classification of repairs and alterations in relation to Major or Minor repairs. Reviews all maintenance entries in the aircraft maintenance records/MIS, initiating procedural error notices as necessary to correct incomplete or deficient paperwork. Monitors/audits aircraft inspection reports, log pages, and records for accuracy and completeness of entries before being sent to the Aircraft Records Department. Conducts routine and unscheduled audits of aircraft work packages, including checks/inspections forms, log pages, routines and non-routines, modification orders, etc., to ensure completion, correctness, and use of appropriate references to approve data in all entries and forms. Reviews all Deferred and Carry-Over Items. Monitors the Company Precision Measuring Equipment Program for compliance. Specific KC-135 experience is highly desirable. Skills and Experience Education: B.A./B.S. degree from a four-year college or university in a related field and/or a combination of education and related experience.
- Formal training as a lead auditor.
Experience:
Five (5) years' experience in an aviation administration function dealing with Quality matters. Experience performing internal & external audits. Experience in an aviation-centric Quality Management System (QMS). Knowledge and experience with the implementation of QMS. Knowledge of all areas of aircraft QMS, AS9100, and AS9110. Knowledge of external agencies (including FAA, NTSB, ICAO, EASA, etc.) Leading Quality Management Reviews. Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership. Perform internal and external audits. Demonstrate ability to act as a Quality Ambassador for the organization, both internally and externally. Manage a Quality program with a focus on continuous improvement. Graduate from a formal auditor's course with accreditation. Understand aviation-related quality assurance programs. Prior military/contractor aviation support experience. Specific KC-135 experience is highly desirable. Additional Eligibility Qualifications
