Position Overview:

Exercise operational control of the day-to-day aviation operations of air ambulance programs in the U.S. and/or as assigned. Ensure personnel in your area of responsibility comply with PHI, FAA, and individual program standards and requirements.

Job Summary:

The Aviation Manager is responsible for the overall aviation operational control, management, and safety of the assigned bases through management and oversight of areas including:

  • Assist COO in exercising operational control of aircraft and resources at assigned bases.
  • Ensure aircraft and pilot availability per regional and company requirements.
  • Supervise startup of new aviation bases, provide qualified pilots, and ensure safety training/orientation.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Manager to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
  • Ensure pilot compliance with PHI, FAA, OSHA, and customer practices, regulations, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and resolve customer and PHI issues.
  • Monitor pilot performance.
  • Work with Ops Business Manager and AMBS to resolve administrative issues.
  • Support the company's Destination Zero safety initiative.
  • Perform duties as assigned.
  • Report to COO for all aviation and operational concerns.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Helicopter pilot with Commercial and Instrument Ratings.
  • Prior EMS experience.
  • Flexible personal schedule.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
