Our client, a small scale sterile manufacturing facility, is looking for an Automation Manager to join their team. The Automation Manager is responsible for the design, development, procurement, and integration of new equipment and electrical controls technologies as well as maintaining and upgrading existing technologies. These technologies will focus on improving the Company's manufacturing performance in the areas of quality, service, cost, operations efficiency, and minimizing unplanned equipment and facilities related downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in the latest related automation and control technologies
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical equipment, facilities, components, and systems in an FDA regulated manufacturing facility
- Maintain and support daily operations from an electrical and controls standpoint
- Conduct analysis of existing manufacturing performance and identify areas of improvement / opportunities
- Design and develop new technology strategies to address the manufacturing opportunities
- Business case development and justification of new technology proposals and presentation of these plans to management groups
- Concept to completion project management of identification, development, procurement, commissioning, and start-up of new technologies
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise contract services including BMS and OEM service
- Facilitate training which builds technical competencies within the team
Experience
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience in a manufacturing facility specializing in electrical controls
- Experience in programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC's
- Preferred: Knowledge of Rockwell Factory Talk Batch and Historian and experience with Building Automation Systems.
Education
- Bachelor's in engineering or technical field (ME, EE)
- Associates degree with equivalent experience will be considered
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong background in electrical controls, automation strategies, project management, organizational development, and a track record of implementing capital projects
- Knowledge of Engineering software including AutoCAD, LabVIEW, RSLogix, Factory Talk Batch, Factory Talk Historian, Factory Talk View SE, Blue Mountain are desired
- Knowledge of common materials, engineering methods, process controls and manufacturing systems
