Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with experience in SCADA, HMI, and PLC systems within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in automation systems design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support for GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, implement, and maintain automation control systems (PLC, SCADA, and HMI).

Support automation projects from concept through commissioning, validation, and operational handover.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing, and validation) to ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.

Develop and maintain automation documentation, including functional design specifications, control logic diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Perform system integration, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ activities for automation systems and equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation hardware, software, and networks to minimize downtime.

Implement and maintain data integrity, alarms, and reporting systems within SCADA/HMI platforms.

Provide technical support for manufacturing operations and assist in process improvements through automation solutions.

Ensure compliance with FDA, EMA, ISO, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for automation systems.

Manage change control, deviations, and CAPA related to automation systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Proven experience working in automation within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.

Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).

Experience with SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, DeltaV, or similar).

Knowledge of HMI development/configuration for manufacturing equipment and utilities.

Familiarity with GMP, GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation life cycle documentation.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
