Position Overview:
Performs a vital role in designing and developing systems for manufacturing operations. May also design layout, materials, and information flow or machine placement. Responsible for increasing production efficiency by evaluating performance and proposing and implementing improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots problems with processes and hardware
- Plans preventative maintenance
- Coordinates with others in order to determine problems and implement solutions
- Identifies opportunities to increase efficiency with automation
- Research and design automation technology
- Create a connection between information inputs, controllers and outputs
- Develop tests and simulations to ensure the systems work as intended
- Investigate defects or errors in technology
- Simulating, installing, testing and managing electrical or mechanical automation
- Prepares specifications for new launch equipment
- Validates new launch equipment
Education/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer
- CAD (Computer Aided Design) experience
- Allen Bradley PLC programming experience
- Vision system experience
