Automation Controls Engineer - Robotics
We are seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer specializing in robotics. As part of a dynamic team, you will play a key role in managing and growing the product line for a leading Industrial Automation products company. This position offers the opportunity to work across various product stages, from development and testing to introduction and lifecycle management, while operating within our high ownership, high creativity culture.
Salary: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire product life cycle from inception to market launch and support.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to define product strategy and roadmap.
- Conduct detailed evaluations and testing of new robotics products and technologies.
- Provide training and documentation for new product launches, ensuring all support materials are accurate and comprehensive.
- Engage in supplier evaluation processes to ensure alignment with company standards and product requirements.
- Initiate life-cycle projects aimed at enhancing product quality and reducing costs.
- Offer technical assistance and second-tier support during business hours, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Travel domestically and internationally on a self-directed basis for product and technology assessment.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial control and automation, with substantial experience utilizing robotics in OEM/manufacturing settings.
- Strong foundation in the application, calibration, and configuration of robotic systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of robotic technologies including SCARA, cobots, and delta robots.
- Proficiency in PLCs, HMIs and other industrial control products.
- Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with agency standards and certifications such as UL, CSA, CE, RoHS.
